Opportunity & Challenge

I wanted to find a team that would help me bring my app to life and provide coding.

Solution

I initially approached Altar.io solely for coding support, but their contribution quickly expanded beyond that. They brought fresh ideas, helped me eliminate what wasn’t working, and offered valuable guidance on how to establish my startup and build a reputable business.

The app we’re building features a social networking feed, an analytics system, immersive video content, and the ability for users to follow and connect with one another.

Team Composition

I mainly collaborate with one of the co-founders, but I’ve also worked with the project manager, product expert, UX/UI designer, lead frontend developer, and the CTO.

Reason for Choosing Altar.io

I discovered Altar.io on Clutch. I had been in touch with them previously, but chose a different vendor at first. However, that vendor didn’t offer the same value for money, which led me back to Altar.io.

Results & Feedback

The app hasn’t launched yet, so there aren’t any success metrics to share at this stage. That said, the quality of the work has been exceptional — the output consistently exceeds expectations, and I’m often blown away by the deliverables.

While some tasks have taken longer than expected or required revisions, the team’s transparency and frequent communication have stood out. They’re upfront about progress and always keep me in the loop, which builds a strong sense of trust.

What impressed me most was the value they added beyond development. They didn’t just focus on building a great app, they guided me through what it takes to build a strong, sustainable business. Their approach is holistic, and they’ve truly felt like an extension of my team throughout the process.

There is some room to improve in terms of project organisation, particularly around more accurate time estimates and ensuring no tasks slip through the cracks.

For anyone considering working with Altar.io, I’d recommend starting with a conversation. They’re selective about the projects they take on and prefer to work on ideas they genuinely believe in, so establishing that connection early on is key.
